the Oppo handbook does say no derogatory posts about the other blogs but I can't act like I disagreed with you. I've made similar posts in the past. Sometimes, shit just picks up steam and goes crazy, you know? Then again, the Oppo handbook says posts should be car related, and most of mine are about beer and funny things that happen to me, so hey.

Reddit is great for getting your stuff out there, plus the sheer number of people on Reddit makes it a great outlet for things like photography/ drawings/ whatever. There are entire communities that revolve around that stuff.

As far a creating this blog, I have no idea? Maybe start by asking the mods of this one? Or ask zippy, he started that sim racer one, Digital Burnout(s), so he must know something about it.

There's an Oppo handbook? I had to learn the rules the hard way getting nearly banned. It took like 3 months or more for my comments to start to become visible to regular peeps again. I learned the hard way to just avoid click baity lines.

I really don't want to rehash stuff a lot because I apologized a lot, but did not delete the original comment because I felt like that would be admitting I was actually serious which I was not at all. Then I made an oppo post about how offensive comments aren't appreciated on gawker which I meant sincerely and to warn others (I'm still used to the old days, anything for a click.) which only seemed to add fuel to the fire. Let's just say I made a joke about women and driving and some people took seriously so I try to avoid poking fun at things that can be sensitive subjects anymore because people have a hard time knowing your real life voice when you're using your internet voice. I stick strictly to automotive brand loyalty humor now. People at least get that your joking with that stuff, for now.

That was the part that upset me the most. When it happened it was no warning beforehand and no explanation afterwards. True I acted like a bit of a spoiled asshole about the whole thing as it went down but I was mostly upset because I didn't understand. To be clear though I wasn't full on banned. First my original comment was hidden and then when I made a stink about it my comments were made nearly invisible. The only people who ever saw my comments were the people I replied to and others could only see my comments if they recommended them. Basically a long time of PC comments that people actually liked to regain visibility. Looking back I wish I'd handled it better and just taken the hint that I shouldn't have made that comment to begin with. I just suck at subtlety and need to be addressed directly. Not so much out of neediness but more out of thick headedness, I don't pick up on things very easily sometimes.

does it really say it has to be car related? I know we all came here as car enthusiasts, but I consider oppo anyththing related to the car enthusiast. Like something funny online, etc.

plus, oppo is seemingly the most down to earth blog here, besides Jalopnik. Kotaku...I read the articles I don't really read the comments. It just isn't worth my time. Here on Jalopnik and oppo, I read the article then the comments. Everybody here is (mostly) nice, and I look forward to the comments people put.

I've notice the blogs start off slowly, I frequently post on LALDiecast (dirty dozen posts) and digital burnout (game talk posts and the digital burnout the game posts). LALDiecast started off slowly then exploded within a couple of weeks. DigiBurnout, sorts seems struggling. But I do do my part and have two separate series of posts going on, and debating on a 3rd. I love vid games, so I am passionate for it. But the numbers aren't really there. So I guess what I'm trying to say is if you start one, don't be discouraged. If you do start a art sub-blog, I'll frequent it. I do believe in encouraging others on what their passionate for :)

Ageism is where someone is perceived a certain way because of their age. I agree too many isms. When I was growing up in Florida I feel like we had the fix, we just acted like assholes to everyone. It was like the cold war. Nobody could ever claim to be offended of anything without being a hypocrite for all the shit they were talking.
